Traditional Crimp Connectors were invented over 60 years ago
In the late 1950s, crimping tools and splices were introduced as an alternative to soldering. At the time this friction fitting simplified wire connectors and made a good connection for the standard of the time. In contrast to today’s standards, crimp connectors fall short. Crimp connectors rely on the friction of a deformed conduction barrel. The pull strength of the connection is inconsistent and can be extremely weak.
More tools, more problems
While all wires being spliced require the conductor to be exposed (stripped), crimp connectors require a specialized tool to crush the connector and make the connection (mostly) permanent. With the Melni Hyper-splice crimpless wire connector, only a wire stripping tool (or even just a pocket knife) is needed to expose the conductor. Once one inch of exposed wire is fed into the splice, only a hand strength twist of the barrel is needed. Form follows function
When using the Hyper-Splice you can see the wrapping of the hyperbolic spiral inside the connector go to work. The internal spiral of wires envelops the two wires being connected forming a lasting bond. This ensures great transfer of electricity and very high pull strength. You can also visually confirm that the connection is solid and ready for use. This makes a huge difference when working in adverse or difficult environments.
